Preparation of a maintenance/development plan for the "Felsenmeer, Russenstein und Naturpark Michelsbrunnen" nature reserve

GefaÖ developed a maintenance and development plan for the nature reserve "Felsenmeer, Russenstein und Naturpark Michelsbrunnen" near Heidelberg. The aim of this plan was to restore its three eponymous sub-areas of the nature reserve in the long term to the original condition that prevailed at the time of their designation as a nature reserve in 1956, from which the Russenstein in particular had greatly departed. The expected objective is to restore favourable conditions for vegetation and thus make the nature reserve an optimal habitat for flora and fauna again.

Within the framework of the development of the maintenance and development plan, faunistic surveys of reptiles, spider and ground beetle fauna, as well as botanical mapping of lichens and mosses were carried out.
